..it takes me one hour..

…to walk from here to Kiryat Moshe.

Hey all, I’ve gotten a couple of phone calls already and a few facebook messages. By all means, continue to call or write and check up on me, but I thought I would just let you all know that I’m okay. I actually just found out about the attack around 30 minutes ago from my roommate, and shortly after that my mom called. Honestly, I can’t just flip on a 24 hours news channel and I don’t have a radio, so you all often get news of what is going on here before I do. The shooting is going to be a servere shock for the people of Israel and tomorrow will be a dark day. A yeshiva is exactly what the news says it is, a Jewish seminary. Some of them can be a bit radical. I don’t know if this is the case with Kiryat Moshe or not. Regardless, this is not about the yeshiva itself, it is about Gaza. And the deaths there are not to be overshadowed in light of tonight’s shooting. One life is not more important than another.

I’m getting out of the city completely tomorrow and will be back on Saturday evening. I’m headed to Haifa for a bit of leisure, which now seems a bit odd. I did hear that there are going to be some protests in the Old City tomorrow. The consulate says we need to stay away from protests, so I’m going to stay very far away.
