..welcome..

I always like to mark times of transition with  pieces of newness; outward manifestations of a time of change. And a time of great change has fallen upon me. Or, rather, I have voluntarily invited it to come crashing down on me. In less than two weeks I will be leaving Nashville and returning to home squared, Indiana. I will cross the Ohio River once more on this final journey home from Tennessee and return to the land that still holds my roots deep in its soil; deeper than I sometimes like to admit.

In 5 weeks time I will yet again be uprooting my life. After spending just enough time at home to re-bond with my family I will pack my bags (as lightly as possible) and begin the journey to Jerusalem.

Until then, this space will be filled with stories of how I’m spending my energy between now and then and the multi-dimensional effects of living in transition. Beginning August 31, I will be writing from Jerusalem. Life in another country should offer much to write about, the challenge is making time for it amidst studying maps, reading textbooks, writing papers and, of course, traveling.

So this is a new blog for a new season.
